Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and young people with special educational needs? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support students aged 4-19 with autism and multiple learning difficulties in a nurturing and inclusive educational setting.

This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with pupils who require tailored support to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with autism and complex learning needs
  • Assist in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies
  • Support pupils in developing communication, social, and life skills
  • Help create a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals
  • Monitor and report on pupil progress and wellbeing
  • Promote independence and confidence in learning and daily activities


Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with autism and/or multiple learning difficulties (preferred)
  • Understanding of SEN strategies and approaches, including sensory needs and communication tools (e.g., PECS, Makaton)
  • Patience, empathy, and a proactive attitude
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
