About the Role:
A well-regarded nursery setting in Borehamwood is looking for an enthusiastic and committed Deputy Manager to support the daily running of the nursery and help lead a passionate team. This role is ideal for a senior practitioner or room leader ready to step up into a leadership position, or an experienced deputy looking for a fresh opportunity in a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Nursery Manager in all aspects of nursery operations

  • Take responsibility for the nursery in the Manager’s absence

  • Ensure the delivery of a high standard of learning, development and care for children

  • Promote and support safeguarding and wellbeing throughout the nursery

  • Help lead, motivate and mentor a team of early years professionals

  • Maintain excellent communication with parents, staff and external agencies

  • Support with planning, assessments and implementing the EYFS framework

Requirements:

  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years (Level 5 desirable)

  • Previous experience in a supervisory or senior practitioner role

  • Sound knowledge of the EYFS and safeguarding procedures

  • Strong leadership, organisational and interpersonal skills

  • A nurturing, positive attitude with a commitment to children’s development
