GSL Education are currently seeking Exam Invigilators to support schools in Boston during the busy exam season. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking part-time or ad-hoc work in a school environment, including university students, retired professionals, or anyone with availability during the day.
About the Role:
As an Exam Invigilator, you will play a vital role in maintaining the integrity of internal and external examinations. You will supervise students in exam conditions, ensure exam regulations are followed, and create a calm and supportive environment for all candidates.
Job Responsibilities:
- Set up examination rooms by school and exam board guidelines.
- Distribute and collect exam papers and other materials efficiently.
- Supervise students during exams, ensuring minimal disruption and strict compliance with regulations.
- Report any incidents, irregularities, or malpractice in line with school policies.
- Support students by providing a calm and reassuring presence.
Job Requirements:
- Previous Experience: Prior experience as an exam invigilator or in a school-based setting is desirable but not essential; training can be provided for suitable candidates.
- A meticulous approach to following procedures and identifying any irregularities.
- Ability to give clear instructions and maintain a calm and authoritative presence.
- A high level of integrity, discretion, and punctuality.
- Willingness to work morning and/or afternoon exam sessions, sometimes at short notice.
- Ability to work effectively with other invigilators and school staff.
- Flexible availability during school hours, particularly during the exam season.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
