We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Accountant to join our client's finance team. The ideal candidate will hold an AAT qualification and have three to five years of experience. This role involves supporting various accounting tasks, including financial reporting, record keeping, and data entry, ensuring accuracy in financial transactions, assisting with audits, and aiding in month-end and year-end closing processes.

Day-to-day of the role:Update and reconcile financial ledgers.Process and allocate client receipts.Prepare financial documents such as accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, and bank statements.Verify company expenses, bank deposits, and payments.Report discrepancies, mistakes, or potential fraud to senior management.Comply with financial laws and regulations alongside in-house policies.Research and resolve discrepancies in a timely fashion.Provide support to the accounts payable and accounts receivable departments.Assist the accounting department with general tasks.Key Responsibilities:Perform bank reconciliations.Prepare month-end reconciliations including prepayments and accruals.Handle VAT returns.Control the fixed asset register.Draft financial statements.Assist with the preparation of annual budgets for the company.Required Skills & Qualifications:AAT qualification.3-5 years of experience in a similar role.Strong understanding of accounting principles.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Proficient time management and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask.High attention to detail.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.Strong problem-solving skills.Experience with accounting software packages, such as Sage and Orderwise.
