Our client are a civil engineering and groundworks contractor, known for delivering high-quality groundwork solutions for residential and commercial development projects.
They are now seeking an experienced Groundworks Estimator to join their team in a strategic, client-facing role. This position will lead the estimating function, support the bid pipeline, and play a key part in identifying repeat business and driving commercial success.

- Monday - Thursday 08:00-17:00; early finish on Fridays (16:00)
- Office-based with weekly site visits (typically within a one-hour radius)

Estimator
Key Responsibilities
- Take the lead in pricing tenders for residential and commercial groundworks packages
- Produce accurate take-offs, cost plans, and tender submissions within deadlines
- Attend pre- and post-tender meetings with clients, engineers, and developers
- Build strong working relationships with existing and prospective clients
- Identify and contribute to securing new business and repeat work opportunities
- Collaborate with senior leadership on estimating strategy and bid planning
- Maintain current knowledge of material and labour costs, contracting rates, and market trends
- Provide support to the construction delivery team as required

Role Requirements
- Demonstrable experience as an estimator within groundworks or civil engineering
- Strong knowledge of tendering processes and commercial risk management
- Established network of industry contacts (developers, contractors, subcontractors) is a strong advantage
- Excellent communication skills and confident in client-facing situations
- Proactive, well-organised, and able to manage workload independently or in a team setting
- Competent with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Full UK driving license
