GSL Education are currently seeking a School Receptionist for a local secondary school in Bournemouth, with an immediate start. This position is term-time only, with working hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

About the Role:

As a School Receptionist, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the educational institution.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet visitors, parents, and students warmly, and assist students visiting the reception area.
  • Answer calls and emails, directing them appropriately.
  • Manage the main reception area, ensuring professionalism and organisation.
  • Assist with filing, photocopying, data entry, and handle incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Maintain accurate student attendance records and assist with enrolment.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and students while supporting the dissemination of information via newsletters and other channels.
  • Manage the school calendar, scheduling appointments and meetings.
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to foster a positive, inclusive environment.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience as a School Receptionist or in a similar role, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for building effective relationships.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail to ensure high-quality outcomes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and basic computer skills.
  • Familiarity with school management systems is a plus.
  • Efficient in managing workloads independently and skilled in problem-solving to calmly address and resolve issues.
  • Maintains personal and professional privacy.
  • A team player who collaborates effectively in a friendly manner.
