CNC Turner (Setter Operator)
No programming involved.

£32-35k per annum + 25% shift allowance.

Working Hours:

Monday – Friday (Week 1)
06:00 – 14:00

Monday – Friday (Week 2)
14:00 – 22:00

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure safe working environment to the individual and any other person.
  • Ability to follow the machining process required ensuring components are machined to correct specifications.
  • Collaborate with other team members, including machinists, engineers, and quality inspectors, to optimize production processes and resolve technical issues.
  • Escalation of machine malfunctions to initiate corrective actions to minimize downtime and ensure continuous production.
  • Achieve & log daily output targets, identifying the issues and potential solutions that contribute to missed targets.
  • High attention to detail and Organizational skills.
  • Self-inspection of finished parts.

General Tasks:

  • Work in compliance with safety policies.
  • Setting/operating CNC machines, including lights out running.
  • Measuring & loading / unloading of tooling.
  • Change tooling / offsets in accordance with dimensions required.
  • Follow engineering drawings and work instructions.
  • Monitor & update daily TPM charts, escalating any issues that cannot be resolved to the appropriate line lead/manager.
  • Maintain and improve 5s standards in the cell.
  • Identify and actively be involved in Continuous Improvement activities and events.

Knowledge Required

  • Proven experience as a CNC Setter/Operator in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Ability to use precision measuring equipment.
  • Certification from a recognized machining program or apprenticeship.
  • Ability to read and speak English fluently.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety instructions, standard works and manuals.
