CNC Turner (Setter Operator)
No programming involved.
£32-35k per annum + 25% shift allowance.
Working Hours:
Monday – Friday (Week 1)
06:00 – 14:00
Monday – Friday (Week 2)
14:00 – 22:00
Key Responsibilities include:
- Ensure safe working environment to the individual and any other person.
- Ability to follow the machining process required ensuring components are machined to correct specifications.
- Collaborate with other team members, including machinists, engineers, and quality inspectors, to optimize production processes and resolve technical issues.
- Escalation of machine malfunctions to initiate corrective actions to minimize downtime and ensure continuous production.
- Achieve & log daily output targets, identifying the issues and potential solutions that contribute to missed targets.
- High attention to detail and Organizational skills.
- Self-inspection of finished parts.
General Tasks:
- Work in compliance with safety policies.
- Setting/operating CNC machines, including lights out running.
- Measuring & loading / unloading of tooling.
- Change tooling / offsets in accordance with dimensions required.
- Follow engineering drawings and work instructions.
- Monitor & update daily TPM charts, escalating any issues that cannot be resolved to the appropriate line lead/manager.
- Maintain and improve 5s standards in the cell.
- Identify and actively be involved in Continuous Improvement activities and events.
Knowledge Required
- Proven experience as a CNC Setter/Operator in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Ability to use precision measuring equipment.
- Certification from a recognized machining program or apprenticeship.
- Ability to read and speak English fluently.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety instructions, standard works and manuals.
