Senior Data Engineer: The role

You'll be at the heart of a major transformation, helping the business bridge the gap between legacy systems and a cutting-edge Azure-based data platform. With three Microsoft Fabric projects already in build and a new Head of Data driving change, this is your chance to shape the future of data within a reputable business.
Senior Data Engineer: What You'll Be Doing
- Run the old world: Maintain and enhance the existing SQL-based systems (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS).
- Build the new world: Collaborate with the Lead Fabric Engineer to deliver scalable, cloud-first solutions using Azure technologies.
- Blend both worlds: Ensure seamless integration between legacy and modern platforms.
- Partner with Finance: Work closely with finance teams to modernize their data processes
- Lead with impact: Bring leadership and gravitas to a business-facing role.
Senior Data Engineer: Must-Have Experience:
- Strong SQL skills and experience with SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, SSMS
- Data warehousing, ETL processes, best practice data management
- Azure cloud technologies (Synapse, Databricks, Data Factory, Power BI)
- Microsoft Fabric (not essential)
- Python / PySpark
- Proven ability to work in hybrid data environments
- Experience in finance or working with finance teams
- Ability to manage and lead on and offshore teams
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to talk to a non-technical audience
