Trainee SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch

Vision for Education is a leading education recruitment agency that works closely with primary, secondary and SEN schools across Dorset. We are currently looking for Trainee SEN Teaching Assistants in the Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch area.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is keen to start a career in education and make a real difference in the lives of children with SEN. This is the perfect entry-level role for someone eager to gain hands-on experience in the classroom, with full training and ongoing support provided.

You will support children with SEND on a 1:1 and small group basis, both inside and outside of the classroom. Working alongside experienced and supportive class Teachers, you will deliver outstanding teaching and learning experiences.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, flexible and dedicated individual who is keen to inspire and support children.

The process

Following a successful interview and pending suitability, safeguarding and identity checks, we will work to secure you a paid placement in a school to further develop your skills. We will help you to develop your identity as an educator and help you to choose your specialist area within SEND provisions.

Prior to starting your placement, you will be required to complete a comprehensive online training programme delivered by Vision for Education and school leaders, which will give you the essential skills you need to work as a Teaching Assistant.

  • Understand the crucial importance of keeping children and young people safe
  • An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one)

All staff we register will undertake thorough interviewing and referencing checks and hold, or be prepared to undergo, an Enhanced DBS check that must be registered on the Update Service.
