Your new role
Our client is seeking an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support commercial delivery on high-profile projects in the Bournemouth region. The role offers a structured progression route and the opportunity to work across a variety of civils, M&E, and infrastructure schemes for major clients.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Quantity Surveying team with the commercial management of ongoing contracts.

  • Assisting with the preparation and submission of monthly valuations and cost reports.

  • Helping manage subcontractor procurement, payments, and variation orders.

  • Maintaining accurate records of site progress and financial performance.

  • Working closely with operational teams to monitor budgets, forecast costs, and control risk.

  • Assisting in the negotiation and agreement of final accounts.

  • Ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and internal commercial procedures.

What you will need to succeed:

  • Experience working with either a main contractor or specialist subcontractor on infrastructure or construction projects.

  • A strong understanding of commercial processes in a contracting environment.

  • Excellent numerical, analytical, and communication skills.

  • Familiarity with NEC and/or JCT forms of contract is desirable.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software.

  • A positive, team-oriented approach with a desire to learn and grow.

  • Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or working towards it (preferred but not essential).
