Our client, a leading company in the water sector, is currently seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a contract position based at Knapp Mill, Bournemouth, with hybrid working available. This is a pivotal role within the Commercial team, reporting directly to the Managing Quantity Surveyor.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Applications, valuations, and cost value reconciliation
  • Cost control and forecasting, including preparing and feeding information for monthly reports on value, cost, profit/loss, and cash flow
  • Supply chain management
  • Assisting with Risk and Value Management to optimise solutions, and regularly mentoring the project team
  • Contract Management, including all relevant contractual forms, methods of budgetary control, and relevant software applications
  • Preparing subcontract enquiries, negotiating, and setting up contracts
  • Ensuring all notifications/documents are kept up to date
  • Bringing safety risk situations to the attention of site management
  • Ongoing liaison with site team, subcontractors, and clients' representatives
  • Providing contractual advice to the site team as needed


Job Requirements:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
  • Membership or studying for membership with ARICS (Association of Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors)
  • Experience working with a main contractor


Desirable:

  • Experience working within the water sector
  • Knowledge of NEC contracts
