Our client, a leading company in the water sector, is currently seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a contract position based at Knapp Mill, Bournemouth, with hybrid working available. This is a pivotal role within the Commercial team, reporting directly to the Managing Quantity Surveyor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Applications, valuations, and cost value reconciliation
- Cost control and forecasting, including preparing and feeding information for monthly reports on value, cost, profit/loss, and cash flow
- Supply chain management
- Assisting with Risk and Value Management to optimise solutions, and regularly mentoring the project team
- Contract Management, including all relevant contractual forms, methods of budgetary control, and relevant software applications
- Preparing subcontract enquiries, negotiating, and setting up contracts
- Ensuring all notifications/documents are kept up to date
- Bringing safety risk situations to the attention of site management
- Ongoing liaison with site team, subcontractors, and clients' representatives
- Providing contractual advice to the site team as needed
Job Requirements:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
- Membership or studying for membership with ARICS (Association of Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors)
- Experience working with a main contractor
Desirable:
- Experience working within the water sector
- Knowledge of NEC contracts
