GSL Education are inviting applications for the position of Child Disability Support Worker at a specialist education provision in Bournemouth. This role involves both academic assistance and personal care, ensuring that each child can participate fully in school life and make consistent progress.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with disabilities.
- Assist with personal care tasks, including feeding, toileting, and mobility support, where required.
- Implement individualised learning plans and behaviour support strategies.
- Facilitate communication using assistive technologies or alternative communication methods (e.g., PECS, Makaton).
- Monitor pupil engagement and report on progress to the wider SEN team.
- Promote inclusion, dignity, and independence for all students.
- Support pupils’ emotional well-being and social development.
Job Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people with disabilities in an educational, care, or health setting.
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to support.
- An understanding of SEN, particularly Disabilities, is beneficial.
- Willingness to assist with personal care tasks.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices.
- Confidence using or learning alternative communication methods.
- A relevant qualification in childcare, support work, or special needs education is desirable.

- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from the last two years.
- Have an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service or be willing to apply for a new one through GSL Education.
