Karter Thomas is a specialist recruitment agency providing interim and contract staff to the public and social housing sectors.

We are currently working with a leading provider of housing services who are looking to recruit an experienced Housing Support Officer on a temporary basis.

This is a full time 35 hours per week rolling contract with possibility to be taken on as a permanent member of the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide advice and support to tenants and residents on tenancy matters, welfare benefits, and re-housing options.

  • Support tenants with varying needs to help them sustain their tenancies and improve their wellbeing.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to meet void turnaround targets and manage the lettings process.

  • Assess housing applicants’ needs and liaise with local authorities and partner agencies.

  • Manage tenancy terminations and new tenancy agreements including all related paperwork (HB/UC applications, CORE forms, etc.).

  • Conduct regular estate inspections, ensuring cleaning, maintenance, and communal services meet standards.

  • Assist with rent arrears recovery and take proactive steps to prevent further debt accumulation.

Requirements:

  • Experience in housing management or support services.

  • Strong knowledge of tenancy sustainment and housing legislation.

  • A valid Enhanced DBS check.

  • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
