Role Accountabilities:

  • Deliver tailored lessons and activities focused on mental health, well-being, and emotional resilience.
  • Provide emotional and educational support to students facing mental health challenges.
  • Work closely with pastoral teams, SENCOs, and external agencies to create individual support plans.
  • Develop coping strategies with students to help them manage their mental health within the school setting.
  • Foster a safe, understanding, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Monitor and track students’ progress both academically and emotionally, providing regular updates.
  • Promote mental health awareness across the school community and encourage a supportive atmosphere.

Role Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching or supporting students with mental health needs is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to working with young people.
  • Ability to tailor learning and support to meet individual student needs.
  • An updated CV (covering the last 10 years, with no unexplained gaps).
  • An enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
