Your Role and Responsibilities as a SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA):

  • Provide tailored classroom support to pupils with a range of special educational needs.
  • Assist teachers in creating inclusive and engaging learning environments.
  • Support individual pupils or small groups to help them access the curriculum and build confidence.
  • Contribute to behaviour management strategies and promote emotional well-being.
  • Collaborate with school staff and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for all learners.

What We’re Looking in SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA):

  • Experience working with SEN children in any capacity (e.g. education, care, youth work, childminding, or support roles).
  • A flexible, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting diverse needs.
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
  • An up-to-date CV covering the last ten years with no unexplained gaps.
  • Ability to travel to schools via driving or public transport.
  • Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check (or already registered on the update service).
