An exciting CNC Miller position has become available in Durham at a precision engineering company who produce components for Aerospace, Defence, Nuclear and Oil and Gas sectors. 

Job Title: CNC Programmer Setter Operator (We are recruiting a Miller and a Turner so please get in contact for either role).

Shift: Split Shifts 

6am – 2pm Monday to Thursday 6am - 12pm Friday. 

6pm -11:25pm Mon-Thurs alternating shifts.

Rate: Up to £20 p/h + Shift Allowance 

The Job

  • Produce components to the required specification, safely efficiently and accurately, to ensure production requirements are met.
  • Experience of Mazatrol or Hurco or Haas control system
  • Produce accurate, high quality components with maximum efficiency
  • Interpret engineering drawings
  • Create programmes and production methods for new parts using the resources available
  • Competently set & operate CNC machines
  • Undertake any minor changes to programmes to produce quality components to drawing limits/customer requirements
  • Carry out inspection, including first-off inspection using gauges and measuring instruments
  • Assist in the cleaning, organisation and maintenance of the shop floor work environment
  • Promote and provide constant input into continuous improvement
  • Promote a team environment
  • Comply with all policies, specifications and safety procedures.

Requirements

  • Time served / equivalent experience in a precision machining company
  • Haas/Hurco/Mazatrol experience
  • Working to tight tolerances
