Waites Recruitment Consultancy Ltd are work with a very good client of ours who is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor based in Maidstone. My client isin Maidstone, Kent and work throughout the South East.

Job Purpose :- Responsibefor commercial management of projects.

Key Responsibilities and Deliverables

  • Preparing subcontract documents, including bills of quantities
  • Review contract conditions and report concerns or recommendations to the Projects Director
  • Procurement of subcontractors, including subcontractor payments
  • Procurement of materials
  • Coordination of site staff and subcontractors
  • Programmes and commissioning programmes
  • Managing costs on all Mechanical and Electrical projects
  • Undertaking costs value analysis including cost value reporting
  • Performing risk and value management and cost control
  • Identify, analyse and develop responses to commercial risks
  • Price up variations and obtain agreement with clients
  • Compile programme based cost to complete/project budgets
  • Valuing works as they progress and agreeing final accounts
  • Invoicing
  • Estimating
  • Provide commercial advice to the operational team as and when required
  • Maintaining awareness of the JCT suite and NEC 4 contracts in current use
  • Coordination with accounts department
  • O&M manuals
  • Be aware and understand the companies Health and Safety procedures, promote the same to the supply chain and within DSL
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures and policies

Essential Qualifications

Quantity Surveyor related qualification essential, preferably RICS

Desirable Qualifications

Degree

Essential Skills

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor (M&E) in a similar role (minimum 5 years) Good Knowledge of construction contract law

Able to demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of the necessity for financial regulatory controls

Ability to advise on the financial aspects of construction

Working knowledge
