Key Responsibilities:
Support senior chefs in running a smooth and efficient kitchen
Maintain high food hygiene standards (HACCP compliance, cleanliness, labeling, etc.)
Supervise and train junior kitchen staff across multiple sections (banqueting, breakfast, room service)
Assist with stock checks, ordering, and cost control
Contribute to menu planning and the development of new dishes
Attend daily briefings and planning meetings
Ensure compliance with health & safety, fire, and food
safety regulations
The ideal Junior Sous Chef will have/be:
Previous experience in a similar role (e.g., AA Rosette or Michelin standard)
NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent culinary qualification
Strong leadership and communication skills
Experience in menu development, ordering systems, and cost control
Understanding of COSHH and kitchen safety standards
A team player with a hands-on approach and flexible attitude
