Material Controller

Role Overview

Vistry Partnerships is seeking a Material Controller to support the smooth delivery of our Market Street project in Bracknell. The role will focus on the coordination, call-off, and management of materials for key trades (bricklayers, carpenters, and plumbers), as well as overseeing general site consumables.

The successful candidate will ensure materials are available on time, in the correct quantities, and stored efficiently to avoid delays to the programme.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the material call-off process for bricklayers, carpenters, plumbers, and other site trades.

• Oversee site stock levels and maintain accurate inventory records.

• Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, and site management to ensure timely deliveries.

• Monitor usage of consumables and replenish as required.

• Maintain safe and organised storage areas in line with site procedures.

• Support cost control by tracking orders, deliveries, and wastage.

• Liaise with the Site Manager and commercial team to forecast material requirements.

• Ensure compliance with site health & safety standards when handling and storing materials.

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience in material control, inventory management, or site material ordering (construction environment preferred).

• Strong organisational and communication skills.

• Ability to coordinate multiple deliveries and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Good knowledge of construction materials and suppliers is advantageous.

• Proficient in record-keeping, stock tracking, and order systems.

• A proactive approach with strong problem-solving skills.

• Valid CSCS card desirable.
