We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Drama Teacher to join a dynamic team in a supportive educational environment. This role involves delivering engaging and effective drama lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4, fostering creativity, confidence, and a love for the performing arts.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality drama lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
  • Direct and produce school plays and performances, involving students in all aspects of production.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective teaching strategies and resources.
  • Participate in school events, parent-teacher meetings, and professional development opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and achievements.
  • Support the school's ethos and policies, promoting a culture of respect and excellence.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A degree in Drama, Theatre Studies, or a related field.
  • Proven experience teaching drama at the secondary school level.
  • Strong knowledge of the drama curriculum and assessment frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their best.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
Desirable Skills:
  • Experience with extracurricular activities related to drama, such as drama clubs or theatre productions.
  • Familiarity with the use of technology in the classroom to enhance learning.
