Are you a passionate and dynamic Geography teacher looking for the next step up in your career? Are you a current Second in Department looking to become a Head of Department in Geography. We are working with a vibrant and well-respected secondary school who are seeking to recruit a Head of Department for Geography to join their dedicated Humanities department on a permanent contract starting in the new academic year from September 2025.

This is an exciting chance to become part of a forward-thinking school community that values academic excellence, collaboration, and enrichment beyond the classroom.

The Role:

  • Teach Geography across KS3 & KS4
  • Lead Geography across each year group and manage all of the Teachers / Support within the department
  • Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons tailored to a diverse range of learning styles
  • Work within a supportive department that values innovation, fieldwork, and cross-curricular links
  • Contribute to the wider school life including trips, clubs, and parent/community events
  • Be a form tutor and support the pastoral care of students

Key Requirements:

  • A degree in Geography or a related subject and Qualified Teaching Status in the UK (QTS)
  • A track record of effective and inspiring teaching at secondary level
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team and willing to contribute to extracurricular and pastoral responsibilities
