About the Role

We are seeking an experienced EICA (Electrical, Instrumentation, Control & Automation) Design Engineer to support ongoing and upcoming projects across the Water sector. This is a long-term contract opportunity offering a competitive hourly rate and flexible hybrid working arrangements.

You will be responsible for delivering high-quality EICA designs as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing to all project phases from concept through to detailed design, and supporting implementation when required.



Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver EICA designs across all project stages - from feasibility and outline design through to detailed design and construction support

  • Prepare technical documentation including:

    • P&IDs, single line diagrams, cable block diagrams

    • Control philosophies and I/O schedules

    • Technical specifications and design calculations

  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines (civil, mechanical, process) to ensure integrated and efficient design solutions

  • Ensure designs comply with relevant UK water industry standards, client specifications, and health & safety requirements

  • Support with design risk assessments, HAZOPs, and DSEAR reviews

  • Liaise with supply chain and provide input into equipment selection

  • Provide occasional site support during surveys, commissioning or installation phases, as required
