About the Role
We are seeking an experienced EICA (Electrical, Instrumentation, Control & Automation) Design Engineer to support ongoing and upcoming projects across the Water sector. This is a long-term contract opportunity offering a competitive hourly rate and flexible hybrid working arrangements.
You will be responsible for delivering high-quality EICA designs as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing to all project phases from concept through to detailed design, and supporting implementation when required.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver EICA designs across all project stages - from feasibility and outline design through to detailed design and construction support
Prepare technical documentation including:
P&IDs, single line diagrams, cable block diagrams
Control philosophies and I/O schedules
Technical specifications and design calculations
Coordinate with other engineering disciplines (civil, mechanical, process) to ensure integrated and efficient design solutions
Ensure designs comply with relevant UK water industry standards, client specifications, and health & safety requirements
Support with design risk assessments, HAZOPs, and DSEAR reviews
Liaise with supply chain and provide input into equipment selection
Provide occasional site support during surveys, commissioning or installation phases, as required
