Overview:

Unify are delighted to be working with a leading construction plant hire business to recruit an experienced Mobile Plant Fitter. This is a field-based role covering Bradford and the surrounding regions.

As a Mobile Plant Fitter, you will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing and servicing construction plant machinery both on customer sites and within the network.

What do I need?

  • Proven experience in maintaining, servicing and repairing construction or heavy plant equipment
  • Relevant qualifications, including NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plant Maintenance, Construction Plant Mechanics, Agricultural Engineering or an equivalent discipline.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical and hydraulic fault-finding abilities.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Confident communication skills, with the ability to deal with customers professionally and provide clear updates and reports.
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own field-based schedule.
  • A full UK Driving Licence is essential.
  • A positive, proactive and safety-conscious approach to work.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out routine maintenance, servicing and repairs on a wide range of plant machinery in line with manufacturer guidelines and company standards.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults using suitable testing and diagnostic tools.
  • Respond to machinery breakdowns on customer sites within your designated area, ensuring downtime is minimised.
  • Perform preventative maintenance to keep equipment safe, efficient and fully operational.
  • Inspect, test and confirm the performance of equipment, ensuring any faults are identified and resolved before returning it to service.
  • Maintain accurate records, including service reports, job sheets, parts usage and inspection documents.
  • Ensure all work is carried out safely and in accordance with health and safety regulations, risk assessments and company procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider engineering and hire teams to deliver high service standards and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Always represent the business professionally, acting as a reliable point of contact for customers.
