Purpose of the Role:
As a Carding Engineer, you will be at the forefront of maintaining and enhancing the performance of carding machines and other vital equipment on-site. You'll lead the charge in troubleshooting, striping down and rebuilding carding machines, and implementing innovative solutions for process improvements. Your work will ensure that our client delivers top-quality products to their customers efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance Duties: Carry out proactive and reactive maintenance on carding machines to minimise downtime.
- Communication: Keep the Maintenance Lead informed about scheduled downtime, reasons, and proposed solutions.
- Problem-Solving: Participate actively in troubleshooting and resolution processes.
- Continuous Improvement: Engage in initiatives that enhance processes and equipment efficiency.
- Documentation: Update the KPI board promptly and maintain effective communication with colleagues.
- Routine Checks: Ensure all machines are running smoothly by regularly checking the SFOL (Shop Floor On Line).
- Safety and Cleanliness: Uphold a "clean as you go" work ethic and ensure the workshop is maintained to high standards.

Essential Skills and Experience:
- Fitter/engineer or possess a City & Guilds certificate (or equivalent) in Mechanical Electrical Engineering.
- Significant experience in fault finding, repair, and general maintenance of machinery and hydraulics.
- Excellent communication skills and a knack for teamwork.
- Knowledge of health and safety standards.
- Competent in MIG, TIG, and electric arc welding.
