The Role
My client who is an established engineering company is seeking an experienced Mechanical Technician to join the workshop team.
his role is primarily focused on the inspection and preparation of engine components and would suit candidates from a mechanical, engine or workshop background.
Quality Inspector Key responsibilities:
- Inspecting cylinder blocks and associated engine components
- Using inspection tools such as verniers and micrometers to check sizes, tolerances and condition
- Preparing engine components prior to remanufacture or further processing
- Carrying out routine housekeeping and basic equipment safety checks
- Supporting continuous improvement activities
- Maintaining high standards of health, safety and hygiene across workshop and yard areas

Mechanical Technician Candidate Requirements:
- Previous mechanical or engine related experience
- Suitable backgrounds include vehicle mechanic, engine technician, plant mechanic, workshop technician, mechanical fitter or quality inspector
- Experience using inspection equipment such as verniers and micrometers
- Willing to learn new skills and processes
- Good standard of maths and English
- High attention to detail and quality focused approach
- Comfortable working to health and safety procedures and wearing PPE
