The role

Working with a well-established and highly reputable construction company we are seeking an experienced Solar PV (18th Edition) Electrician on a permanent basis due to growth.

This is a hands-on, senior-level role, ideally suited to someone with a strong electrical background, a passion for renewables, and the drive to help lead installations to the highest industry standards.

Duties and Person Specification

  • Carry out the electrical installation and connection of solar PV systems in line with MCS, BS 7671 (18th Edition), and DNO requirements.
  • Install and commission hybrid and AC-coupled battery storage systems.
  • Complete electrical testing, inspection, and certification in accordance with 2391 standards.
  • Liaise with design and roofing teams to ensure smooth delivery of projects.
  • Undertake DNO notifications, testing documentation, and commissioning paperwork accurately and promptly.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard of quality.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to apprentices and junior team members.
  • Represent the company professionally on-site and with customers.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Fully qualified electrician (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
  • 18th Edition BS 7671 qualified.
  • Experience in DNO G98/G99 application and notification processes.
  • Site leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Inspection & Testing (City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent).
  • BPEC in Battery Storage (or equivalent battery installation qualification).
  • Strong experience in installing and commissioning domestic and commercial PV systems.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Strong understanding of health & safety, IET Wiring Regulations, and MCS compliance.

Desirable

BPEC Solar PV qualification or equivalent.

Knowledge of various inverter and battery brands.
