Job Summary:
Our client, a dynamic and forward-thinking law firm, is seeking a pre-litigation Claims Handler with at least 12 months of experience to join their busy team in defending pre-litigation Employer's Liability (EL) and Public Liability (PL) claims. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, strong IT proficiency, and the ability to work methodically and process-driven. Enthusiasm and a willingness to learn are essential. This is a hands-on, fee-earning role with training provided.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Under the guidance of your supervisor, your main duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Managing the defence of EL/PL personal injury claims from inception up to, but not including, litigation – preferably with a focus on retail.

Utilising the MOJ EL/PL Portal effectively.

Communicating with opponents, experts, statutory bodies, and clients via email, telephone, and written correspondence.

Negotiating on issues of liability and quantum.

Pursuing recovery of client’s losses from third parties where appropriate.

Maintaining accurate financial, reserve, and risk management information on all claims.

Complying with internal, client, and procedural protocols.

Reviewing and meeting personal objectives.

Building and maintaining strong relationships with existing and potential clients, ensuring a high standard of client care at all times.

Providing excellent customer service to litigants in person.

Keeping up to date with relevant legislation and practice through ongoing training.

Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with SRA/Law Society Regulations.
