The Opportunity

Aspion Search is partnering with a growing engineering manufacturer based in Bradford that is looking to strengthen its design team with the addition of a Mechanical Design Engineer. This would suit a recent graduate with strong Autodesk Inventor experience who is keen to learn and develop. The Mechanical Design Engineer will be working on bespoke HVAC and specialist equipment projects, gaining hands-on exposure to real products within a supportive, engineer-led environment.

The Role of the Mechanical Design Engineer

The Mechanical Design Engineer will work as part of a collaborative design team, supporting the design and development of mechanical systems and assemblies.

The Mechanical Design Engineer will be involved in the full design lifecycle, working on bespoke HVAC and specialist equipment projects from concept through to manufacture, while working closely with manufacturing, purchasing, and project teams.

The Mechanical Design Engineer will be involved in:

  • Mechanical design of engineered products and assemblies
  • Producing 3D models and detailed manufacturing drawings
  • Working primarily in Autodesk Inventor
  • Supporting design for manufacture and assembly
  • Liaising with manufacturing, purchasing, and project teams
  • Contributing to continuous improvement of design processes and procedures

Requirements of the Mechanical Design Engineer

  • Mechanical Engineering degree or relevant Mechanical qualification
  • At least 2 year’s industry experience in Mechanical Design Engineering
  • Comfortable producing detailed manufacturing drawings
  • Experience using Autodesk Inventor (SolidWorks also considered)
  • Experience deigning HVAC systems (desired)
  • Background in HVAC, thermal equipment, or similar engineered products (desired)
