Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Sheet Metal Engineer with expertise in TIG welding to join our clients dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with thin plate stainless steel, and be proficient in fabricating parts from technical drawings. A strong background in using a press brake is also required to ensure high-quality production and precision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform TIG welding on thin plate stainless steel to produce high-quality, precise welds.
- Read and interpret technical drawings to fabricate and assemble components accurately.
- Operate and maintain a press brake to shape and form sheet metal to exact specifications.
- Ensure all fabricated products meet internal quality standards and customer requirements.
- Conduct inspections of your own work and work from others, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Collaborate with the design team to ensure manufacturability of parts and components.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Adhere to health and safety guidelines and procedures at all times.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any fabrication issues that arise during the production process.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Sheet Metal Engineer, with a focus on TIG welding and thin plate stainless steel.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and translate them into fabricated products.
- Experience in using a press brake for metal shaping and forming.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- A strong understanding of health and safety regulations in a workshop environment.
- Previous experience in a similar role is highly desirable.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with other welding techniques, such as MIG welding or MMA, is a plus.
- Ability to work with other materials in addition to stainless steel.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
