Multi Trade Operative - Plasterer or Ground Worker

We are seeking a skilled Multi Trade Operative to join the team of a leading social housing organisation. The main purpose of this role is to efficiently carry out a variety of maintenance tasks, repairs, and property checks using your main trade and any secondary skills. This position requires a high level of professionalism and the ability to work independently. The focus for this role will be around the plastering specialism or ground working (Slabbing or Fencing).

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Stock & Materials Management:
    • Maintain stock levels and accurately record material usage.
    • Order special materials as needed while avoiding waste.
    • Manage and return all related paperwork to the admin team.
  • Technology & Reporting:
    • Properly use PDA or job tickets and update them in real time.
    • Complete logs and reports such as standby logs and vehicle reports.
    • Communicate with managers about any job cancellations or changes.
    • Write reports for area managers and address any issues.
  • Tools & Vehicles:
    • Use tools safely and report any damage or loss immediately.
    • Adhere to the company’s vehicle policy.
  • Health & Safety:
    • Comply with all safety regulations and report unsafe practices.
    • Conduct risk assessments and report potential dangers.
  • Professionalism:
    • Wear the company uniform and represent the company positively.
    • Deliver high-quality work without close supervision.
    • Be flexible and assist as needed.
    • Supervise apprentices if assigned.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Essential:
    • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience in one main trade and others.
    • Proven experience in building and maintenance work.
    • Good understanding of health and safety laws.
    • Excellent time management, planning, and communication skills.
    • Team player, self-motivated, with good decision-making skills.
    • Full UK driving licence (a van is provided).
  • Desirable:
    • CSCS card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).
