Job Title: Repro Operator/ Artworker (12 month contract)

o Mon - Fri (compressed hours available with 4 day week)

Established in 1987 our client is a well-established innovator in carton engineering. From initial concept to design right the way to prototyping. They strive to maintain a high level of quality and offer added value packaging to their customers. Their customers cover a range of industries from pharmaceutical, health & beauty, drinks, homeware and veterinary, making each day never the same.
They're currently seeking an experienced Repro Operator/ Artworker to join our busy reprographics team. The role will be a 12 month fixed contract on a maternity cover basis, starting September 2025. However, there is an opportunity to extend this with an earlier start from June 2025. A typical day consists of checking and preparing customer supplied artwork files ready for print, proofing, and prototypes. A background in preproduction, print and packaging would be beneficial but not mandatory. At times you may need to liaise with the in-house technical team to ensure best results are achieved.
Key skills required of a Repro Operator/ Artworker:
- Experienced in artworking, checking and setting up files ready for print production
- Ability to maintain a high level of quality and strong attention to detail
- Familiar with Mac and Adobe Suite - primarily Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop & Acrobat
- Understanding of file types e.g. PDF, Ai, TIFFS
- Technical knowledge and awareness e.g. colour profiles, image resolution, spot colours, varnishes and foil
- Be able to follow procedures and guidelines
- Maintain an organised and systematic approach
- Manage own time and work efficiently under pressure to meet deadlines
- Work as a team and individually
Experience required for a Repro Operator/Artworker:
- Experience of using GMG Colour Proofing system, preparing files, and creating prototypes
- Knowledge in imposing and plate making would be beneficial
- Experience in retouching and colour correcting using Adobe Photoshop
- Understanding of packaging / net layouts and design consideration
- Background in litho printing
