Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of upcoming work, they are now looking for an experienced Buyer to join their dynamic and supportive team.

The Role

As a Buyer, you’ll play a vital role in the procurement process—ensuring our projects run smoothly, cost-effectively, and on time. Working closely with our project managers, site teams, and suppliers, you’ll be responsible for sourcing materials, negotiating terms, and maintaining excellent supplier relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Procure materials, plant, and equipment in line with project requirements
Negotiate best value on prices, delivery schedules, and payment terms
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors
Monitor market trends and identify new opportunities for cost savings
Ensure timely delivery of materials to site, preventing project delays
Manage purchase orders, contracts, and supplier performance
Work closely with estimating and site teams to understand procurement needs
Maintain accurate procurement records and reports

About You

Proven experience in a buying/procurement role within the construction or civil engineering industry
Strong negotiation and communication skills
Organised, proactive, and commercially aware
Familiarity with construction materials, plant hire, and supplier networks
Good IT skills (Microsoft Office, procurement software, etc.)
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
