About the Role:
You will play a pivotal role in the procurement of materials and subcontract services, this role requires extensive knowledge of NEC contracts and experience managing procurement within a major infrastructure environment. You will be responsible for supporting cost-effective purchasing decisions, developing strong supply chain relationships, and ensuring compliance with commercial and contractual obligations.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:
- Managing end-to-end procurement processes, ensuring quality, budget, and schedule objectives are met.
- Procuring subcontract packages and negotiating agreements under NEC contract terms.
- Collaborating with internal teams to align procurement activity with project requirements.
- Maintaining relationships with key suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring performance standards are met.
- Identifying cost-saving opportunities and contributing to continuous improvement of supply chain strategies.
- Ensuring compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and applicable legislation.
About You:
You will have a proven background in infrastructure or rail procurement, ideally within a large-scale project environment, and possess a detailed understanding of NEC subcontractor procurement.
Essential requirements:
- Demonstrable experience working with NEC subcontractors.
- Strong commercial and contractual awareness.
- Proven track record in a Senior Buyer or similar procurement role within the infrastructure sector.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and supplier management skills.
- CIPS qualification (preferred but not essential).
