Bid Manager – Civil Engineering | Glasgow-Based with UK-Wide Projects
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Bid Manager to join a leading civil engineering contractor renowned for delivering high-profile infrastructure projects across Scotland, England, and Wales. This is a key strategic role, working closely with the Estimating Manager and Deputy Managing Director, and will play a pivotal part in the company’s continued success and growth across the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams to produce high-quality, compelling bid submissions
- Work collaboratively with internal teams, clients, consultants, and third parties to shape and deliver winning strategies
- Analyse contract documentation, negotiate terms, and ensure commercial and legal risks are managed effectively
- Develop cost-effective, design-led solutions that align with the company’s strengths and client expectations
- Mentor and manage bid team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture
- Report directly to the Estimating Manager and Deputy Managing Director
About You:
- Chartered Civil Engineer (or equivalent) with 10+ years’ experience (Preferred)
- Strong background in contracting, with proven success in Design & Build environments
- Familiarity with NEC and FIDIC forms of contract, with a track record of successful negotiation
- Demonstrated experience in managing complex bids and leading cross-functional teams
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships at all levels
