We are currently working on behalf of a housing association to recruit for an Income Assistant. The role will be supporting a project within their Rent and Service Charge Team to resolve overpayments in rent. The role is entirely remote.
Responsibilities of the Income Assistant:
- Supporting the Rent and Service Charge Team with handling overpayments in rent
- Calculating overpayments
- Liaising with customers to notify of overpayments and explain resolutions
- Producing and sending out letters surrounding rent accounts
- Processing refunds
- Producing invoices
- Liaising with DWP and Local Authority to notify of charges made in error
- Updating accurate information on the Orchard housing system
- Responding to internal and external customer queries relating to rent overpayments
Requirements of the Income Assistant:
- Previous experience working within rents, service charges, council tax or benefits
- Social housing knowledge and experience
- Ability to utilise Excel
- Strong literacy and customer service skills
