Are you a passionate Learning Support Assistant (LSA) looking to make a difference to the education of learners with diverse needs and ability?

At Best In Class, we are working with a school in North Bradford who are looking for Learning Support Assistants to assist the learning of children with additional needs who have varied ability.

Being a SEND Support Assistant for children with diverse ability can sometimes be a challenging role, but also very rewarding! As an LSA, you may be required to support children in small groups or on a 1:1 basis with the aim to raise attainment and aid their learning journey. This may be supporting children with core subject knowledge, language development, or social and emotional development.

These roles are to begin as soon as possible. There may also be the opportunity to become a permanent member of staff for the right individuals.

In your role, your responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting children with additional needs including; Autism, Global Delay or Communication and Language difficulties and Social and Emotional challenges
  • Scaffolding activities to meet the needs of learners with diverse needs with the teachers support
  • Working 1:1 and building up a close relationship with children
  • Following all safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • Liasing with colleagues and sometimes parents about progress
  • Supporting the class teacher to make learning materials inclusive

Desired:

  • L2 or above TA Qualification
  • Or Education based degree or qualification
  • Available full time

Essential:

  • Grade A-C in English & Maths
  • Experience with children that have diverse needs
  • Strong communication and organisation skills
  • Ability to work in a team with colleagues
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service
