SEN Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support (ASD)
Location: Bradford Primary School
Start Date: January 2026
Contract: Full-time, long-term

A welcoming primary school in Bradford is seeking an experienced and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) from January. This role is ideal for someone who can offer structure, reassurance and consistency within the school setting.

Key responsibilities:

  • Providing 1:1 support to a KS1 learner with ASD

  • Supporting emotional regulation and communication

  • Helping the child access learning in a way that suits their needs

  • Using visual supports, routines and personalised strategies

  • Working closely with the SENCO, class teacher and external professionals

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience supporting children with ASD

  • Calm, patient and nurturing approach

  • Understanding of sensory needs and communication differences

  • Ability to implement strategies such as PECs, visual timetables or social stories

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
