Our client are an established and successful manufacturer in the M62 corridor seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager. This role will cover buying (a spend of circa £17m) planning (mostly Excel focused and relatively manual) warehouse (goods in and good out with a sizeable stockholding) and transport (some of their own fleet, but utilising 3PL providers too) and be responsible for a headocunt of around 30 people. They are looking for a confident leader of people who can get better performance out of their existing team through effective training and management. This an opportunity to really own the role and make a significant contribution to the ongoing success of a friendly company: In return the business offers a competitive basic plus generous bonuses and a good level of autonomy.

- Plan and implement the overall supply chain strategy and determine key supply chain KPIs
- Collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Customer Service teams
- Suggest solutions for process improvements
- Identify bottleneck and implement solutions in a timely manner
- Train and mentor members of the supply chain team
- Build and maintain excellent relationships with vendors
- Identify new sources for required goods and evaluate
- Visit key suppliers wherever necessary to ensure the company gets the best service

- At least 5 years operating at Supply Chain Manager level
- Experience working with ERP/MRP systems
- Critical thinker
