Overview:

A well-established and forward-thinking accountancy practice in Chelmsford is seeking an experienced and motivated Accounts Senior to join its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified or part-qualified accountant looking to take the next step in their career within a supportive and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of year-end accounts for a diverse portfolio of clients, including sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
  • Preparation of management accounts and financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
  • Review of bookkeeping and VAT returns prepared by junior staff.
  • Liaising directly with clients to provide advice and resolve queries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assisting with the training and mentoring of junior team members.
  • Supporting the partners with ad hoc projects and client work as required.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and internal procedures.

Requirements:

  • ACA/ACCA qualified or part-qualified (qualified by experience will also be considered).
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience within a UK accountancy practice.
  • Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards and tax regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently.
