Your new company
Excellent opportunity to join a Housing Association in Essex as the Grounds Maintenance and Estates Operative on a temporary basis. You will be joining a Housing Association who work across Essex and will be required to travel to their depot in Colchester each day. This is an interim contract offered on an initial 12 week basis.
Your new role
As the Grounds Maintenance and Estates Operative you will visit social housing properties across the portfolio to perform communal repairs, grounds maintenance, fly-tip removal, communal area carpet cleaning and removal of leaf and garden waste stores including managing skip rotation. You will work alongside others within the team and will play a part in ensuring the estate and facilities are safe and tidy. You may also be involved in basic tree maintenance to remove obstructions and ensure resident safety as part of the tree survey programme. This role is offered on a full-time basis (37 hours) Monday-Friday 8am - 4pm.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful for the role, you should have an understanding of DIY and Grounds Maintenance. Qualifications are not required. Experience gained working within social housing environments is beneficial and you should have experience of working with the public and dealing with sensitive issues. You should be competent using power tools and manual handling techniques. A DBS is required for this role. You will be required to hold a driving licence and access to a vehicle is beneficial.
