A leading international supplier of innovative Wellbeing & Bodycare products. They offer a complete range of products including Skincare, Haircare, Bath & Body, Fine Fragrance and Home Fragrance. Turnover is growing rapidly and is approaching £40M and covers the UK, North America, Europe, and Australasian markets.

The company has ambitious plans and a strategy to match to deliver fast long-term growth. At the core of the organisation is the production facility that manufactures over 15million units from a 120k sq ft site in East Anglia.

This is a great time to join the group as it has ambitious plans and a strategy to deliver fast growth internationally. They are now looking to hire a proactive and detail-orientated Materials Control Supervisor to join their team.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Materials Control Supervisor to join our client’s fast-paced FMCG production site. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of raw materials and packaging into production, maintaining optimal inventory levels, and minimising disruptions to the manufacturing schedule.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of materials planning, stock control, and supply chain coordination within a dynamic manufacturing environment. You will supervise a team of material controllers who are responsible for all of the purchasing needs of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of raw materials and packaging to production lines
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to support production requirements while minimising excess stock
  • Liaise with purchasing, planning, and warehouse teams to coordinate material availability
  • Raise and manage material requisitions and goods movement documentation in the ERP system
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers and logistics partners to track inbound deliveries
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimise material flow and reduce downtime
  • Escalate material shortages or supply chain risks to relevant stakeholders in a timely manner
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of material movements and stock levels

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Proven experience in a materials control or supply chain role within FMCG or manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of production processes and material flow
  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics)
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
  • High attention to detail and a proactive approach to managing stock and schedules
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-moving, deadline-driven environment

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Certification or qualification in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Production Planning
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles
  • Experience working with perishable or shelf-life-sensitive products
