Role Overview
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Design Engineer to join the Brentwood office and contribute to the delivery of fit-for-purpose utility network designs. This customer-facing role plays a key part in supporting business growth through technical excellence and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce utility network designs and construction packs in line with customer and business requirements.
- Work closely with Business Development, ESOs, and Designers to develop tender and construction designs.
- Ensure designs meet planning, safety, and technical standards.
- Promote a zero-harm culture and ensure compliance with HSEQ policies.
- Conduct Design Risk Assessments and support safety by design principles.
- Collaborate across teams to ensure effective project delivery.
- Represent the business in customer interactions with support from senior engineers.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in engineering or technical subject (or equivalent industry experience).
- Strong understanding of engineering principles and health & safety legislation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Desirable
- Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status (or working towards).
- Experience with utility new connections and development sites.
- Understanding of construction principles.
- Proficient in AutoCAD.
