Job description
Our client is looking for an individual who can work alone and within a team to help them service their long term contracts.
Our Client works within many areas and require an electrician who will be working mainly on our Street Lighting Contracts.
The role will be to carry out electrical and structural inspection & testing surveys of street furniture, electric vehicle charge point (EVCP), maintenance and installation works.
Location of works: Essex/ London/ South East
Key activities
- Install, maintain, and repair street lighting, Electric Vehicle Charge Points EVCP, including feeder pillars etc.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical issues in street lighting and EVCP
- Electrical and structural Inspection and testing of street furniture
- Operate mobile elevated work platforms (MEWPs)
- Respond to emergency lighting issues, restoring service promptly to minimize disruption.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities, including materials used.
- Inspect and test electrical systems in compliance with BS 7671
- Tasks like SWA jointing and installing cut-outs, lighting columns and EVCP
- Participate in emergency call-out rota
- Complete necessary documentation on electronic devices or paperwork.
- If applicable Install traffic management, including signage and guarding
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements, ensuring safe systems of work.
- Ability to work as part of a team
Skills, qualifications & experience
- Holder of a gold card or equivalent. JIB / ECS / CSCS card.
- 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations certification (BS 7671).
- Previous experience in street lighting, or similar work preferred
- City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent testing and inspection qualification.
- Full, clean UK driving license
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
In return our client will offer:
45,000.00-48,000.00 per year
