Nursery Practitioner – Full-Time (Brentwood Area)

Are you a passionate and dedicated Nursery Practitioner looking for your next role in early years education? TeacherActive is working with a lovely setting in the Braintree area that is currently recruiting for a full-time Nursery Practitioner to join their nurturing and supportive team. About the Role:

As a Nursery Practitioner, you’ll play a vital role in the day-to-day running of the nursery and in helping to provide a safe, stimulating, and caring environment for children aged 0-5 years. You will be responsible for delivering a high standard of learning, development, and care to ensure that every child has the best possible start in life.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering age-appropriate activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework

  • Supporting children’s development, learning, and play through engaging and educational experiences

  • Observing, assessing, and recording each child's progress and sharing outcomes with parents and carers

  • Creating a warm, welcoming, and inclusive environment where every child feels secure and valued

  • Working collaboratively with colleagues and contributing to a positive team atmosphere

  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in line with safeguarding and health & safety policies

  • Promoting positive behaviour and ensuring the wellbeing of all children

  • Attending staff meetings, training sessions, and development opportunities

What We’re Looking For:
  • A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education or Childcare (or equivalent)

  • Previous experience working in a nursery or early years setting is highly desirable

  • A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their development

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices

  • An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service – or be willing to apply for one through us
