Our Engineering client is seeking an experienced and qualified HSE Manager based in West Horndon, with travel to various key customer sites across the U.K.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in heavy engineering sectors such as Power & Energy, Petro-Chemical, and Aggregate.
- Proven track record in high hazard and heavily regulated environments.
- Expertise in ISO 45001, 14001, and 9001 management systems.
Package:
- Salary: £40,000 to £50,000 (inclusive of travel, depending on qualifications and experience).

Profile:
- Full driving license (preferably clean).
- Relevant Health and Safety Advisory experience in heavy engineering sectors.
- NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health or equivalent CSCS card holder.
- Qualified internal health & safety auditor with experience in internal audits.
- Minimum Grad IOSH.
- Strong communication, influencing, and negotiating skills.
- Pragmatic approach to Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality Assurance management.
- Experience with ISO 45001, 14001, and 9001 management systems.
Responsibilities:
- Support site teams in improving safety culture.
- Assist Top Management with HSE Policy and Guidelines.
- Define organizational roles and responsibilities concerning safety.
- Implement, update, review, and audit Company HSE Systems.
- Monitor and update Safety and Environment System procedures.
- Motivate and familiarize personnel with Company system procedures and safety equipment.
- Assist departments in dealing with Health and Safety issues.
- Conduct internal and external safety audits.
- Lead accident/incident investigations.
- Analyze accident/incident statistics and suggest improvements.
- Provide technical support to Senior Management on safety-related subjects.
- Conduct in-house safety training.
- Audit Sub-contractors.
- Liaise with Clients on safety issues.
- Provide safety-related engineering input into new projects and modifications.
- Participate in HAZOP meetings before procurement and installation.
- Perform Risk Assessments.
- Support outages and projects at customer sites, with flexibility to travel and work away.
- Manage Health and Safety processes during outages.
- Prepare Health and Safety documentation for new tenders.
- Provide Safety support and advice for initial contract start-up activities.
