Our client, an engineering consultancy based in Essex, is seeking a Project Engineer for it's marine division. The role will include:

  • Providing support to projects as required, including BOM control and management of subcontract design and analysis activity.
  • Assisting in the design and analysis of systems, including component selection, system integration, and performance optimisation.
  • Providing solutions for in-field failures and issues on products and projects.
  • Identifying and troubleshooting technical challenges and product issues/failures observed during operation and propose innovative solutions.
  • Under the supervision of the Principal Engineer, support the introduction of the solution into the products/projects.
  • Working closely, and consult, with cross-functional teams, including design, electrical, procurement, the workshop, and external partners, to achieve project objectives.
  • Participating in testing protocols, data collection, and validation efforts to ensure the reliability and safety of the dual fuel systems.
  • Providing reports on work carried out, and maintain data pertaining to design, development and calibration work in line with business requirements

About you:

  • You will be degree qualified with a strong interest & passion in decarbonisation and robust technologies that are used for harsh environments (high TRL technologies)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal, written communication skills and teamwork abilities.
  • Familiarity with engineering software tools (Matlab/Simulink) and CAD design (e.g. CATIA/SolidWorks) is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of hydrogen safety protocols and regulations is advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
