Senior Quantity Surveyor – Social Housing Retrofit & Decarbonisation
Location: Brentwood (Flexible Working Available)

We are working in partnership with a leading social housing refurbishment contractor to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a key long-term framework agreement with one of the UK’s largest housing associations. Based out of their Brentwood hub, this role offers an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a high-profile retrofit and decarbonisation programme currently valued at £10m per annum, with a growth pipeline projected up to £30m per annum.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially astute Senior Quantity Surveyor to step into a strategic role delivering sustainable housing solutions, while enjoying long-term local work, a strong career pathway, and flexible working arrangements.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the commercial delivery of a major retrofit and decarbonisation framework across a portfolio of social housing properties
  • Oversee cost planning, procurement, valuation, and financial reporting to ensure the framework is delivered to commercial targets
  • Build strong working relationships with client representatives, internal teams, and supply chain partners to maintain contract performance
  • Support the preparation of monthly CVRs, forecasts, and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal processes
  • Drive value through effective subcontractor negotiation, performance management, and final account settlement
  • Contribute to the strategic growth of the framework by supporting the commercial team in scaling operations in line with increased workload

 

Candidate Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within social housing, refurbishment, or energy efficiency sectors
  • Strong knowledge of retrofit and decarbonisation works, or a demonstrable interest in sustainable construction
  • Confident managing large-scale, long-term frameworks and working closely with clients to deliver value and compliance
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and leadership skills
  • Comfortable working both on-site and remotely, with strong time management and communication abilities
