Carbon60 are looking for an Advanced Product Quality Planning Specialist to join a client of ours based in Broughton. This is a contract position that is likely to last 12 months.

The Advanced Product Quality Planning Specialist is a crucial role within the Manufacturing Engineering team at this company, a leading player in the aerospace industry. As an APQP Specialist, you will be responsible for driving the implementation of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) methodologies and tools, ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency in the company's aerospace manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities of the APQP Specialist:

- Lead the implementation of APQP methodologies and tools, ensuring quality is built into the company's manufacturing processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute APQP plans, driving continuous improvement.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments, including Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), to identify potential quality issues and implement mitigation strategies.
- Define and optimise manufacturing processes and controls, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Facilitate design reviews, process validations, and other APQP-related activities to ensure product and process readiness for production.
- Monitor and analyse key quality metrics, providing timely reports and recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Drive problem-solving and root cause analysis efforts to address quality issues and implement effective corrective actions.

Qualifications and Experience:

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field; advanced degree is preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering, with a focus on APQP and quality planning in the aerospace or aeronautical industry.
- In-depth knowledge of APQP methodologies, tools, and industry standards.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, such as AS9100, and their application to aerospace manufacturing.
- Proficiency in risk assessment techniques, including FMEA and control plan development.
- Experience with process optimisation, Lean manufacturing principles, and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to drive effective solutions.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders.
