Reed Recruitment is partnered with a multinational sustainable manufacturing company, based in Bridgend who are going through a sustained period of growth and are looking to add a Mechanical biased Multi skilled technician to their days regular team.

Reporting to the Senior Mechanical Engineer, you’ll work as a multi-skilled (Mechanical Bias) technician, tackling mechanical maintenance, fault diagnosis, and basic electrical tasks. You’ll support root cause analysis, drive continuous improvement, and help boost performance.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Restore, overhaul, and maintain equipment to departmental targets.
  • Perform equipment/unit changes on machines.
  • Operate and maintain Steam systems (training provided).
  • Work with Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems.
  • Conduct welding & burning tasks.
  • Operate machine shop equipment, e.g., lathes, milling machines.
  • Carry out fault diagnosis.
  • Utilise the CMMS (EAM) system to improve reliability.
  • Assist in preventing reoccurrence of equipment failures through root cause analysis and initiating solutions to ensure asset performance improvements.
  • Continuously develop technical skills through training and hands-on experience.

Required Skills:

  • Time served Mechanical Engineer/ Technician.
  • Experience across Heavy/ Medium industries.
  • Proactive attitude and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
