Control Systems Engineer - Wales & South West
Location: Covering Wales and the South West (home-based with travel)
Salary: £50,000 + Benefits
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
A well-established systems integrator is looking for a skilled Control Systems Engineer to join their team, delivering automation and control solutions to a variety of clients across Wales and the South West. This is a field-based role involving the full lifecycle of control system projects - from design and programming to commissioning and support.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop PLC-based control systems using platforms such as Siemens TIA Portal and Allen Bradley Studio 5000
Configure and deploy SCADA/HMI systems including Siemens WinCC
Lead commissioning activities on customer sites, ensuring systems function to specification
Produce supporting technical documentation including FDS, SDS, and test protocols
Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to meet project requirements
Conduct thorough testing and support integration of systems in live environments
Provide ongoing technical support and troubleshooting where required
About You:
HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical, Automation, or Control Engineering
Strong background in PLC programming and SCADA integration
Experience with Siemens and/or Allen Bradley systems
Familiar with industrial communications (Profibus, Profinet, Modbus, Ethernet etc.)
Comfortable working independently and on customer sites across the region
Full UK Driving Licence is essential
